Exciting environmental news in the world of promotional products this January! One of our trusted suppliers, AAA Innovations, is actively working to convert to products made from sustainable materials across their catalog.
Our industry has actually seen quite the explosion of eco-minded products in the last few years, so why is it so noteworthy that AAA Innovations is making the commitment to make every product in their catalog?
They won’t be raising prices.
“I want AAA Innovations to have a real impact on the environment and to help change the perception of our industry,” AAA Innovations CEO Jeffrey Nanus said. “While every company in our industry has put forth some statement regarding their sustainability commitments, virtually no one has made that full commitment with their products.
“How can companies offer competing products with most made from non-sustainable materials at lower prices than their eco-friendly offerings and expect to effect real change? So, our goal is to go all in. Change everything – except the price.”
Beginning with their line of umbrellas, more than half of which are already made with rPET polyester, the company is going to implement the use of eco-friendly materials for each product they offer. After umbrellas, they will convert to using ocean-bound plastics (OBP) for their Sasquatch roto-molded coolers and to using recycled cotton/nylon for their Satchels New York bag collection.
The company is already shipping all umbrellas in recycled Kraft paper gift sleeves and has eliminated excess packaging.
“Every supplier should be thinking this way – with the environment in mind,” Nanus said. “It is possible to hold prices and provide greener products. As everyone makes this transition, our industry on the whole will be seen in a different light.”
We’re here for this change and hope to see more of it from our suppliers.
